Where It Began

It all started with a flight.

What I thought was going to be a semester abroad studying in Italy became something much bigger. That first taste of travel changed everything. It opened the door to a world I did not know I was looking for, and once I stepped through it, I never really came back the same.

From that moment on, I could not wait to plan the next adventure.

After finishing my graduate degree, I knew what I was meant to do. I packed up the RV I was living in and headed west, chasing the kind of life that felt less ordinary and more alive. Not long after, I found my first guiding job.

For years, life moved with the seasons. Summers were spent guiding small-group tours across the United States, sharing national parks, backroads, canyon views, desert highways, and hidden corners with travelers from around the world. Winters were spent backpacking internationally, learning from new cultures, new landscapes, and the kind of unexpected moments that only happen when you are far from home.

After years on the road, one thing became clear: travel is at its best when it feels personal, meaningful, and connected to the places you are moving through.

That idea became Uncharted America.
